Before You Rent or Buy

Reserve 2–5 days ahead. Ask:

• What size do I need, and how many tons are included?
• What is the cost per extra ton and per extra day?
• Which items are banned (tires, mattresses, paint, appliances, concrete)?
• Do I need a permit to place it on the street?
• Can you put boards down to protect my driveway?

Tips

• Common roll-off sizes are 10, 20, 30 and 40 cubic yards; heavy debris like concrete often needs a smaller box because of weight limits.
• Street placement usually needs a city permit; driveways usually do not.
• Ask for the all-in price: rental days, tonnage and fuel or environmental fees.
